Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 7AM to 4PM with a 1 hour lunch break
Job Summary/Objective of Job
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of the building and its systems, ensuring a safe, efficient, and functional work environment. This role includes performing routine inspections, addressing repair needs, and supporting the installation of new equipment.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components and equipment.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager on major repairs, projects, and improvements.
- Collaborate professionally with outside vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Fabricate, install, or modify equipment as required.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of and commitment to safe work practices.
