The intent of this position is to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill short term trades and maintenance needs in various capacities throughout the City. Duties include but are not limited to Duties are specific to the needs of the department. Below is a sample of job duties:Maintenance WorkerMaintains grounds including cutting lawn, trimming branches, removing debris; conducts equipment maintenance such as service requests. Provides routine and heavy cleaning tasks. Provides minor repairs. Assists skilled trade staff by performing supporting tasks. Operates a variety of machines and equipment. Handles traffic control, as needed. Assists with snow and ice removal. Collects, clears, and picks up debris and trash from designated spaces. Assists with various events, including event set-up and tear-down. Performs facility checks and inspections, if applicable. Assists citizens as needed. TradesProvides trades specific duties to include:Cleaning and performing preventative maintenance Performing scheduled inspectionsTroubleshooting and making repairs;Preparing and completing work orders; Following all safety policies and procedures. The employee is frequently required to crawl, reach extending hands and arms in any direction, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger (pick, pinch, type or otherwise work primarily with fingers), grasp applying pressure to an object with fingers or palm, talk, feel, and use substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers. In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties, this classification is considered to be medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
