Maintenance

Under the supervision of the General Manager, oversees the day-to-day physical operations to safeguard the facility, its employees and patrons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Maintains a clean and safe facility at all times
• Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately
• Practices excellent customer service
• Performs general maintenance tasks at facility including preventative maintenance
• Responsible for completing daily and weekly reports for ice maintenance and facility maintenance
• Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance of ice resurfacer and edger.
• Practices safe operating techniques as specified by STAR for blade changes, driving, resurfacing, handling, and inspection of machines
• Knowledgeable in gauging ice depth, flooding technique, use of wash water, and initiating maintenance
• Performs any other related or similar duty as assigned

Work is performed in several settings:

• An office environment
• A recreational facility
• Working indoors and outdoors
• Facilities which include working on ice

This position can involve sitting, standing, walking, running, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and ice skating. 

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED 

Standard office equipment that includes computers, fax and copy machines, and telephones.  Maintenance and cleaning equipment that include ice resurfacers, ice maintenance equipment, skate sharpeners, vacuums, mops, and any other equipment associated with use in a recreational facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Proficient ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
• Experience in facility maintenance and operations is preferred
