Job Duties:
This position requires good health and physical condition. Working conditions involve outdoor work, often in inclement weather. Daily travel is often required under poor road conditions or on county gravel roads. The knowledge, skills and abilities of this position are normally attained through experience in the construction trades with an emphasis on natural and recreational resources.
Maintaining, repairing and constructing buildings, fences, facilities, roads trails, pedestrian bridges, signage that provide safe and enjoyable recreational opportunities to the public. Maintains equipment fleets in a proactive sustainable manner. Assists in Regional weed control efforts as needed, including habitat improvement work on Wildlife Management Areas, general maintenance of Fishing Access Sites, and consistent general maintenance at regional State Parks. Regional and site-specific tasks may exist, and other duties may be assigned. This job will include the need of basic computer skills, such as the ability to work with Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel.
Southwest Montana is a fast-growing part of the state. Many opportunities for outdoor activities occur in the surrounding countryside including great trail systems, national forest, wilderness areas, fishing, and hunting.
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):
The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally attained through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalency and 1 year of job-related experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
