Job Description

Maintenance Technician

Your day starts with a walk through the property, checking key areas, reviewing maintenance requests, and making sure the hotel is ready for the day ahead. You’ll spend your time balancing preventive maintenance with the unexpected needs of a busy hotel—from inspecting equipment and completing routine repairs to troubleshooting guest room issues and partnering with other departments to keep everything running smoothly.

As Maintenance Manager, you’re not just there to fix things when they break—you take pride in preventing problems before they happen. You notice the loose handle, dripping faucet, scuffed wall, or equipment that doesn’t sound quite right and take action before it impacts a guest or teammate. At the end of the day, some of your best work may be the work our guests never notice, because everything simply works the way it should.

What You’ll Do

As our Maintenance Manager, you will:

  • Lead and maintain the hotel’s preventive maintenance program, ensuring scheduled maintenance is completed consistently and documented appropriately.
  • Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, grounds, and building systems.
  • Diagnose and complete general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, appliances, fixtures, furniture, and other hotel equipment within your level of expertise.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest concerns, with a focus on minimizing disruption to the guest experience.
  • Identify potential maintenance concerns early and develop solutions before they become larger or more costly problems.
  • Maintain the overall appearance and physical condition of the property, including touch-up painting, minor repairs, and general upkeep.
  • Partner with Housekeeping and Front Office teams to ensure guest rooms are maintained to hotel standards and maintenance-related room issues are addressed quickly.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, preventive maintenance records, inspections, and other required documentation.
  • Monitor supplies, tools, parts, and equipment and communicate purchasing needs appropriately.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized repairs or services are required.
  • Help ensure compliance with brand standards, safety requirements, fire and life-safety procedures, and applicable codes.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance and storage areas.
  • Assist with property improvement projects and other maintenance needs as they arise.
  • Be available to respond to urgent maintenance situations when necessary.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

You don’t wait for someone else to point out what needs attention—you see it.

You’re someone who takes pride in a well-maintained building and understands that every detail contributes to the guest experience. You can prioritize competing needs, troubleshoot problems, work independently, and communicate effectively with both guests and teammates.

Most importantly, you understand that great hotel maintenance is preventive. When equipment is cared for, rooms are inspected, projects are planned, and small repairs are handled quickly, the entire hotel operates better.

If you enjoy solving problems, working with your hands, taking ownership of a property, and knowing that your work makes a difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
