Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Abatement
Serves on a team to implement strategies to achieve code compliancePerforms code compliance abatement actions as assigned, including mowing private lots subject to mow ordersPerforms maintenance tasks, light construction, paints, patches, power washes and mowsRemoves trash/debris from streets and alleysDelivers and monitors the tool trailer during neighborhood cleanups events, inspects, and maintains the equipmentAssists with projects including those involving entire neighborhoods, multiple property owners, high profile properties, and other complex situationsParticipates in interdepartmental teams and with other partner organizations to provide comprehensive solutions for code compliance issuesPrepares and maintains accurate daily activity logsParticipates in special projects, duties may include the operation of heavy equipment such as a backhoe and skid steer to efficiently demolish buildings and a dump trump truck or roll-off truck for removing solid waste from demolition sitesFollows the city policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned
Projects
Performs general building and ground maintenance, as assigned, including tasks such as mowing, painting, power washing, patching, weed eradication, cleaning and removal of trash and debris from streets and alleys and light constructionParticipates in special projects as assignedDelivers and monitors the tool trailer during neighborhood cleanups events, as scheduled, including inspecting and maintaining the equipmentWorks closely with other members of the Transform Temple Team and the City's Office of Community Development to implement strategies to achieve code complianceAssists with Transform Temple and Community Development projects including those involving entire neighborhoods, multiple property owners, high profile properties, and other complex situationsParticipates in interdepartmental teams and with other partner organizations to provide comprehensive solutions for code compliance issuesPrepares and maintains accurate and complete daily activity logsCommunicates effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writingFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentOne (1) year of experience in maintenance work, lawn care, or a related field
Certifications and Licenses
Valid driver's license
