Maintenance Worker (Grounds)

TITLE:                        Maintenance Staff (Grounds)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid MS Driver’s License
2. Good health (medical exam not required)
3. Prior experience in lawn care and/or landscaping preferred
4. Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Salary and work year to be established by the School Board

REPORTS TO:                       Director of Maintenance

JOB GOALS:                         To maintain Brookhaven School District’s grounds to maximize presentations to visitors, the community, students and employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:        Such duties as may be assigned, including but not limited to, the following:

1. Performs landscaping and lawn maintenance of all district lawns.
2. Maintains a revolving cut schedule
3. Insures the safe operation of all equipment assigned
4. Uses safety glasses/goggles and other appropriate safety equipment when operating equipment and dispersing chemicals
5. Performs maintenance of equipment in regard to the mechanical ability of the employee
6. Follows all board policies and procedures
7. Maintains regular attendance and is punctual
8. Promotes the district’s vision, mission, and goals
9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance

JOB EVALUATION:               Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel

The employee is required to perform all related duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator and/or supervisor. The Brookhaven School District reserves the right to revise this job description at any time.
