Maintenance Worker

Summary

The Maintenance Worker will be responsible to the Director of Facilities & Maintenance. The Maintenance Worker will be responsible to coordinate work efforts and planning with Supervisor and other staff who have responsibility in such areas as nursing, housekeeping laundry, dietary, activities, accounting, office management and Independent Living.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Use of common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers, as well as selected specialized equipment and electronic testing devices.
• Perform regularly needed repair of facilities and equipment.
• Consult with Director of Facilities & Maintenance on repairs beyond the scope of skills or time allotment.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Keep maintenance shop, adjoining storage room, boiler rooms, mechanical rooms and outside approaches to these areas organized and clean.
• In addition to the above-described duties the following specific areas fall under the Maintenance Worker: Interior and exterior lighting, cleaning and repair of gutters and storm drains, cleaning and redecorating of rental units in cooperation with Independent Living.
• Other duties as may occur from time to time be assigned by the Director of Facilities & Maintenance.
