Justice Resource Institute (JRI), in partnership with the Department of Youth Services (DYS), is currently looking for a Maintenance Worker in Taunton, MA.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (with 30 minute lunch)

Compensation:  The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications.  This range may be modified in the future. 

This position is for a Maintenance Worker/Custodian within a secure program setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs general cleaning and custodial/janitorial tasks within a locked juvenile facility.
  • Responsible for daily cleaning, i.e. bathrooms, trash collection, buffing floors, cleaning windows, etc.
  • Performs security checks of the building to ensure all doors are properly secure.
  • Maintains an accurate daily inventory of all tools and equipment used daily.
  • Adjust work schedule to meet needs of the program and ensure unit schedules are observed, especially during periods of inclement weather.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism by exhibiting pride and knowledge in performance.
  • Follow all JRI and DYS Program Policies and Procedures.
  • Other relate job duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 yrs old.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Professional experience in maintenance/custodial work.
  • Adherence to standard preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
  • Must be available to work through snow storms and post-storm clean up (paid at overtime!)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Acceptable state/federal background checks.
