This position reports directly to the Superintendent. General duties include that of mowing, watering, fertilizing, applying pesticides, fixing irrigation issues, and various other cultural practices within the environment. This position will report to work at Burke Lake Golf Course but may work at any of the other parks within the Managed Parks section as needed. Under the direction of the Superintendent, this position maintains the grounds turf and facilities of a golf course and applies pesticides, fertilizers and other grounds and turf management materials on site. Additionally, the position plants and prunes trees and shrubs on site; completes various landscape tasks including propagating beds, edging, mulching, and planting materials on site; reconstructs, edges, and fills sand traps on golf course. The position sets up golf course for play including changing holes, rotating tee markers, servicing water cooler and ball washers, and removing trash; manually irrigates turf and ornamentals on site. Operates various golf course grounds maintenance and mowing equipment and specialized turf management equipment.
