MAJOR GIFTS COORDINATOR

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Together California is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Major Gifts Coordinator to support our fundraising and development efforts. This position will cultivate relationships with major donors, prospective donors, philanthropists, and community partners while helping increase awareness of Together California’s mission and impact. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication and organizational skills, a passion for relationship building, and the ability to support both traditional fundraising and digital engagement efforts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with major donors and prospective donors.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value contributors through thoughtful, consistent stewardship.
• Identify prospective donors and philanthropic opportunities aligned with Together California’s mission.
• Coordinate donor meetings, special events, recognition opportunities, impact reports, and stewardship activities.
• Partner with the Development Director and leadership to align major gift opportunities with organizational priorities.
• Develop donor communications, proposals, presentations, correspondence, and other fundraising materials.
• Coordinate digital awareness and fundraising campaigns through email, social media, and other digital platforms.
• Support engaging digital content that highlights Together California’s programs, success stories, fundraising priorities, and community impact.
• Maintain accurate and confidential donor records and documentation.
• Represent Together California professionally with donors, community partners, volunteers, staff, and the public.
• Support other development projects and initiatives as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
• Three or more years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, philanthropy, development, communications, or a related area.
• Knowledge of major donor cultivation, stewardship, relationship management, and nonprofit fundraising practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate digital awareness campaigns and support communications across email, social media, and other digital platforms.
• Strong relationship-building, organizational, project coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information.
• Commitment to the mission, values, and philosophy of Together California.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of required child abuse, criminal record, and sexual offender registry background checks.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and automobile insurance.
• Ability to work in an alcohol, tobacco, and drug-free environment.
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for donor events or organizational activities.

PAY SCALE: $90,000 - $100,000 DOE
