    Mammography Technician

    Location: Brooklyn, NY

    Duration: 9 weeks

    Schedule:Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

    Shift:Day Shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a qualified Mammography Technician to perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in mammography positioning, compression, and imaging techniques while ensuring high-quality diagnostic images and accurate patient documentation.

    The technician will be responsible for following departmental procedures, maintaining imaging standards, and ensuring timely transmission and completion of studies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.

    • Demonstrate competency in mammography positioning, breast compression, and technique selection.

    • Ensure all radiographic images are accurately labeled according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

    • Evaluate images for technical quality and acceptability.

    • Ensure images are transmitted to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) in a timely manner.

    • Ensure all completed studies are properly documented in IDX.

    • Accurately enter and maintain required patient tracking information in the designated tracking system.

    • Follow established departmental protocols and imaging quality standards.

    • Maintain patient safety and ensure compliance with applicable mammography regulations.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid New York State License in Diagnostic Radiography.

    • Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

    • Demonstrated competency in screening and diagnostic mammography.

    • Knowledge of mammography positioning, compression, and imaging techniques.

    • Ability to evaluate image quality and ensure accurate documentation.

    • Familiarity with PACS and IDX systems.

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

    Required Certifications & Licensure

    • New York State License in Diagnostic Radiography.

    • ARRT registration.

    • Must maintain compliance with Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements.
