    Job Title: Mammography Technologist

    Location: North Bergen, NJ
    Assignment Duration: 18 Weeks

    Schedule

    • Shift: Days
    • Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Training schedule may be 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
    • Schedule: 5 x 8-hour shifts
    • Hours per Week: 40
    • Weekend Requirement: Occasional weekends may be required
    • Holiday Requirement: None
    • On-Call: None
    • Float Requirement: None

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to join a comprehensive breast imaging team. The ideal candidate will perform screening and diagnostic mammography while assisting with advanced breast imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with ACR, MQSA, FDA, and state regulatory standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations following established imaging protocols.
    • Position patients appropriately to obtain accurate, high-quality breast images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
    • Assist with advanced breast imaging procedures, including:
      • Breast ultrasound
      • Stereotactic breast biopsy
      • Needle localization
      • Breast MRI coordination
      • Tomosynthesis (3D Mammography)
      • DEXA scanning (when applicable)
    • Prepare patients by explaining procedures and providing pre- and post-procedure education.
    • Operate and maintain mammography equipment while following quality assurance and radiation safety standards.
    • Complete all required documentation accurately within the electronic medical record and imaging systems.
    • Participate in quality control activities to maintain compliance with ACR, MQSA, FDA, and state regulations.
    • Maintain patient records, imaging documentation, and follow-up tracking for biopsies and additional imaging studies.
    • Collaborate with radiologists and the multidisciplinary breast imaging team to deliver exceptional patient care.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.

    Required Qualifications

    Education

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.

    Experience

    • Minimum 2 years of recent hands-on Mammography Technologist experience.
    • Experience performing both screening and diagnostic mammography.
    • Breast imaging experience required.
    • Previous experience with advanced breast imaging procedures preferred.

    Required Licensure & Certifications

    • Active Radiologic Technologist License.
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (RT)).
    • Mammography Certification.
    • Breast Imaging Competencies.
    • If not already certified in Mammography, the certification must be obtained within the required employment timeframe in accordance with organizational policy.

    Additional Information

    • 40-hour work week (5 x 8-hour day shifts).
    • No on-call or holiday requirements.
    • Training schedule may begin on a 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM shift before transitioning to the regular schedule.
    • Virtual interviews will be conducted.
    • Black scrubs are required.
