Position Summary
The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality radiographic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and supportive experience for every patient while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance.
The Mammography Technologist reports to the Supervisor, Ultrasound.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostic Imaging Excellence
- Operate mammography and radiologic imaging equipment to produce precise, high-quality diagnostic images
- Ensure all imaging meets clinical standards for accuracy and clarity
Patient-Centered Care
- Deliver exceptional patient care with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and families to promote understanding and ease anxiety
- Monitor patient conditions during procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and timely response to changes
Procedure Preparation & Workflow
- Review physician orders and patient histories to prepare for imaging procedures
- Prioritize workflow and ensure timely completion of exams
- Position patients and equipment accurately to achieve optimal imaging results
Data Integrity & Documentation
- Accurately document diagnostic data and maintain complete patient records
- Enter required information into electronic health systems in a timely manner
Equipment Management
- Adjust imaging equipment based on physician direction and established protocols
- Perform routine equipment checks and minor maintenance to ensure operational readiness
- Report equipment issues promptly for repair or replacement
Clinical Collaboration
- Partner with physicians and clinical teams to support interpretation of imaging results
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Required)
Experience
- Clinical experience in radiology or mammography (Preferred)
Licensure & Certification
- Registered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT) – Required
- Registered Technologist in Mammography (ARRT-M) – Required
