Mammography Technologist

Job Summary

Ensure that the evaluation of mammography procedures is administered in a fashion that is accurate, timely, responsive, and reliable. Customers served include UHSH employees, Medical Staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine mammography as well as bone density scans and biopsy procedures as requested by referring staff.
• Demonstrate adequate radiation safety practices as it relates to both patients and co-workers.
• Provide patient education as required.
• Maintain the required number of CEUs to maintain mammography certification.
• Establish effective communication with referring physicians, radiologists, and other department customers to ensure efficient operations.
• Participate in all Radiology Management System functions as they relate to patient procedures.
• Adhere to appropriate and accepted clinical principles, methods, and procedures while performing mammography and bone density procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Prior experience in Mammography
• ARRT (R)(M) certification
