Position Summary
The Managed Care Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating strategic initiatives that support organizational goals, payer strategy, payment transformation, and operational excellence. This role serves as the primary administrative and project lead for key committees under the Payment Reform Committee redesign, including the Payer Policy Review and Oversight Committee (PPROC), while providing project management support for other payer-related programs.
The Managed Care Project Manager partners closely with Managed Care leadership to plan, coordinate, and execute complex departmental initiatives. This role drives accountability across key stakeholders, supports organizational change management efforts, monitors and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensures the successful advancement of strategic Managed Care priorities and operational objectives. This position plays a critical role in ensuring strategic initiatives are executed effectively, communicated clearly, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Committee Leadership & Governance
- Lead the administrative oversight, coordination, and ongoing management of the Payment Reform Committee redesign initiative.
- Partner with committee chairs to drive committee transformation efforts, including stakeholder engagement, and accountability measures.
- Serve as the lead administrative support for the Payer Policy Review and Oversight Committee (PPROC), including agenda development, master policy tracking, meeting facilitation, documentation, follow-up activities, and action item tracking.
- Support initiatives through project coordination, stakeholder communication, and implementation tracking.
- Coordinate committee activities across operational, clinical, financial, revenue cycle, and managed care teams to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
- Develop and maintain committee charters, workplans, meeting materials, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Project Management & Strategic Initiatives
- Manage multiple managed care projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, deliverables, risks, and dependencies are effectively monitored and communicated.
- Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional initiatives that support payer strategy, reimbursement optimization, policy oversight, and value-based care objectives.
- Drive accountability through project tracking, status reporting, issue resolution, and escalation management.
- Lead change management activities related to committee redesigns, process improvement efforts, and strategic payer initiatives.
Managed Care Operations Support
- Serve as a resource to managed care leadership for projects, operational initiatives, and various strategic assignments.
- Learns and supports various Managed Care operational functions, serving as a flexible resource across the department to assist with projects, priorities, and general business needs.
Executive & Departmental Support
- Provide project management and administrative support to the Vice President of Insurance Networks and the managed care department leaders on departmental priorities, organizational initiatives, and special assignments.
- Develop executive-level reports, presentations, summaries, and recommendations related to managed care initiatives.
- Coordinate department-wide projects and ensure alignment among team members, workstreams, and organizational stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication, collaboration, and information sharing across managed care, finance, revenue cycle, operations, and clinical departments.

Education
- Bachelor''s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Finance, Project Management, or a related field required.
- Master''s degree preferred.
Experience
- 2-4 years of healthcare, managed care, payer contracting, project management, or healthcare operations experience preferred
- Experience leading complex projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience supporting executive leadership and committee governance structures preferred.
