Job Description - Management Analyst I (MA I) / Peer Support
Work Location: New Castle, DE
Work Type: Onsite
Schedule: 1 day per week (weekend), 8 hours, 2 days per week (16 hours)

Position Overview: The Peer Support Specialist is an individual with lived experience with mental illness, addiction, co-occurring conditions, and/or recovery who supports others facing similar challenges. The role provides peer-based recovery support and transition assistance, helping individuals build skills and resources needed to live independently and productively in the community under the DHSS behavioral health program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide peer recovery support based on lived experience
- Support individuals transitioning between levels of care
- Assist clients in developing independent living and community skills
- Interview clients, families, and related parties to obtain case history
- Identify, document, and advocate for client needs and barriers
- Maintain an assigned caseload and provide ongoing support
- Prepare narrative reports and contact documentation
- Partner with family, providers, and support networks for recovery coordination
- Assist with benefit or service application forms when needed
- Conduct routine follow-up calls with clients
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Applicant must have direct personal experience living with mental illness and/or addiction and recovery.
