MANAGEMENT ANALYST II
An Overview
A Management Analyst II assists the director of a department in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of agency operations through responsibility for special projects and on-going tasks related to such management functions as short- and long-range planning, program evaluation, program development, performance measurement, management and organizational analysis, and management systems design and implementation. This position provides executive support and strategic coordination through management of the Director's calendar and confidential matters. This class is distinguished from the Management Analyst I by the broader scope and complexity and confidentiality of the duties and responsibilities assigned requiring responsible exercise of expertise gained from considerable administrative work experience. Performance of this work requires initiative and the exercise of independent judgment.

Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, and theories of advanced administrative support management analysis; ability to develop procedures for administrative improvement; ability to execute directives and develop comprehensive plans from general instructions; demonstrated integrity, and sound decision-making; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships withal internal and external stakeholders; ability to collect, analyze, interpret and prepare data; expert executive calendar management skills; and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Minimum & Additional Requirements
Four-Year College Degree: Considerable experience in a position involving public administration, program planning and evaluation; and the forecasting of budget and other program/departmental needs; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite and related office technology. The candidate will be someone that possesses excellent organization and communication skills, has demonstrated confidentiality and integrity, and is able to keep up with the demands of the office. They will have experience working in local government and coordinating materials through multiple review levels, ideally supporting a director, department head, or executive. In addition, the successful candidate should possess the drive, initiative and follow through in the context of implementation. A person who can prepare and edit critical documents and has the ability to learn new systems and software quickly will do well in this role.
Notes
Core operating hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on site. Additional evening and weekend hours may be required. Currently, remote work is not available for this position.
