Position Description

\n

Reporting to the executive director, the Management Associate is a junior management level position responsible for supporting the organization’s fundraising and special event efforts as well as managing its communication & marketing activities. It also provides administrative, programmatic, and operational support, and may help to pilot new initiatives.

\n

 

\n

Responsibilities

\n

Fundraising

\n

·       Coordinate and support the organization’s annual fundraising activities

\n

·       Liaise with and cultivate potential donors

\n

·       Track prospect and donor information

\n

·       Maintain and update related data base

\n

·       Prepare for donor/funder meetings with required research

\n

·       Track and classify donations

\n

·       Develop and translate fundraising materials in English and Chinese

\n

 

\n

Communications & Marketing

\n

·       Manage organization web site, social media, traditional media, and newsletters

\n

·       Gather, organize, and present contents for media update

\n

·     Author and translate press releases, media advisory, and other marketing materials in English and Chinese

\n

·       Represent CMP in occasional community and public activities

\n

 

\n

Event planning

\n

·   Assist/lead in organizing, coordinating, and implementing special events including: fundraisers, cultivation opportunities, press conferences, promotion/marketing events, etc.

\n

·       Collaborate with program staff in organizing specific outreach and program related events

\n

 

\n

Operational & Management Support

\n

·       Provide support in Board and Committee processes including taking meeting minutes

\n

·       Assist and participate in organization outreach activities

\n

·       Provide support in direct client contacts and other program service activities

\n

·       Support leadership staff in exploring/seeking new opportunities and piloting new initiatives

\n

·       Identify and potentially responsible for or support startup/pilot initiatives

\n

·       Develop volunteer opportunities and cultivate volunteer involvement

\n

·       Coordinate volunteer and internship activities

\n

·       May supervise program interns, summer workers, or volunteers

\n

·       Some departmental/program/project budget planning

\n

 

\n

\n

Candidate Qualifications

\n

Minimum Requirement

\n

·       Minimum a bachelor’s degree

\n

·       Excellent people skills and works well with people of various background and styles

\n

·       Excellent verbal communications skills and demonstrated writing and editing skills

\n

·    Computer proficient, minimally with Microsoft Office suite, and ability to learn new software applications and online tools

\n

·    Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English and Chinese Mandarin (Additional ability to understand and speak Cantonese preferred)

\n

·       Must be an independent self-starter who is creative, curious, inquisitive, and a resourceful problem solver

\n

·       Must be proficient in use of mainstream social media. Proven ability to use Asian ethnic oriented social media a plus

\n

·       Full-time on-site work schedule

\n

·       Flexible work schedule with some evening and occasional weekend hours

\n

 

\n

Preferred Skills

\n

·    Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure systematic stewardship of donors/funders and follow through on projects

\n

·       Basic track record in producing persuasive written materials and successful in-person solicitations

\n

·       Graphic design skills and/or photography skills a plus

\n

·       Vibrant, dynamic personality with energy and passion in CMP’s mission area and target community

\n

 

\n

Soft Skills

\n

·     Proactive work style with ability to initiate a conversation and quickly assess as well as identify key talking points

\n

·       Strong organizational, analytical, creative, and interpersonal abilities

\n

·     Ability to coordinate multiple projects, set, meet, and follow through deadlines and manage strict timelines

\n

·       Eagerness to learn about nonprofit management and operations

\n


\n

Compensation

\n

·      $40,000 - $45,000 per annum depending on experience

\n
