An Interim / Nurse OR Leader is needed for a 40-hour, full-time day shift position in Owosso, MI. Reporting directly to the Director, this role holds 24-hour operational responsibility for nursing personnel, ancillary staff, and patient care delivery within the Operating Room department.
Schedule & Shift Details:
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week.
Shift Type: Days.
Attire: Business casual for meetings; facility-provided OR scrubs for daily operations.
Weekend Requirements: No on-site weekend or holiday requirements.
On-Call Requirements: No formal call requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily departmental operations, manage unit budgets, monitor productivity targets, and maintain safe staffing levels.
Team Development: Direct recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, competency assessments, and leadership coaching for clinical coordinators in partnership with Talent Management.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards; lead annual unit-based quality initiatives (HCAHPS, core measures, Value-Based Purchasing); conduct monthly departmental safety rounds.
Departmental Engagement: Participate in the Nursing Leadership Council, serve on organizational committees, conduct monthly off-shift rounding, and lead monthly staff meetings.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
5+ years of total RN experience [Required].
2+ years of Operating Room (OR) clinical experience [Required].
1+ years of recent nursing supervision/leadership experience in an acute care setting within the last 2 years [Required].
Previous formal department leadership experience [Highly Preferred].
Licensure & Certifications:
Active Michigan RN License [Required].
Active CNOR Certification [Required].
Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications [Required].
Health Requirements: COVID-19 vaccine required (qualifying exemptions accepted).
