Job Summary

The Management Technician is part of the Rohrbach Library team. It is a key leadership role that combines customer service, supervision, and library operations. This position will hire, train and supervise student employees for the information desk and the curriculum materials collection. They will oversee the daily operations of the information desk, manage circulation services, coordinate course reserve materials, and play an important role in supporting student success. Additionally, this position will serve as the primary point of contact for library patrons, ensuring every visitor receives accurate, professional, and welcoming assistance.

This full-time position offers a consistent Monday - Friday schedule from 7:30am - 4:00pm, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Customer service experience on the front line
  • Communication experience in-person, telephone and email
  • Familiarity with Office 365 or any task-specific software
  • Supervisory experience
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in libraries or higher education institutions
  • Experience with website development and/or web design
  • Management skills (operations oversight)

The starting salary for this position is $45,907.00 (which increases to $46,.827.00 on July 1, 2026), based on the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement, permitting a combination of on-site and remote work, subject to applicable organizational policies, operational requirements, and supervisory approval.
