Job Duties/Scope Of Work

Under direction of the director of cybersecurity and enterprise architecture Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Manager to lead and mature cybersecurity operations supporting mission critical activities across the enterprise. This role provides strategic oversight, operational leadership, and compliance accountability for cybersecurity functions in a complex federal environment. The manager ensures cybersecurity capabilities effectively protect Department of Energy – Hanford Field Office (DOE HFO) information systems and align with federal requirements, enterprise risk priorities, and operational mission needs.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the cybersecurity team, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and a mission focused culture.

• Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of cybersecurity functions supporting DOE HFO systems, networks, and assets.

• Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity directives, including NIST, DOE Orders, FISMA, and site specific requirements.

• Serve as a cybersecurity liaison with internal stakeholders, federal leadership, contractors, oversight organizations, and integrated project teams.

• Direct the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity processes, risk management activities, and defensive capabilities.

• Oversee incident response readiness, reporting, and coordination with DOE and interagency partners.

• Provide leadership in strategic planning, capability roadmaps, and program maturation initiatives.

• Manage cybersecurity performance metrics, program documentation, and accountability measures.

• Support budget planning, resource allocation, and contract oversight as required.

• Fulfill Control Account Manager (CAM) duties and other responsibilities that support the successful deployment of the cybersecurity management program and projects.

• Play a mission-critical role in supporting the One Hanford mission.

• Contribute to maintaining a secure, compliant, and resilient environment in support of DOE HFO’s critical cleanup and stewardship mission.


Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field -OR- equivalent combination of education and related experience.

• Demonstrated experience leading cybersecurity or information assurance teams.

• Experience supporting enterprise IT environments, or federal information systems.

• Prior people management or leadership experience.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.


Desired Qualifications

• Advanced cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CASP+, or equivalent.

• Understanding of ICS/SCADA cybersecurity practices and OT risk management.

• Experience with enterprise risk assessments, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity architecture.

• Familiarity with federal budget planning, program management, and contractor oversight.

• Proven ability to lead complex cybersecurity initiatives and drive continuous program improvement.

• 8+ years of experience in information management, and other relevant experience interfacing with customers and stakeholders.

• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST 800 53 controls, FISMA requirements, and DOE cybersecurity directives.


Compensation & Benefits

Grade 20: $131,888 - $166,263

Grade 21: $145,150 - $183,050

Grade 22: $162,863 - $214,288

This position may be required to complete a probationary period. Benefits for eligible employees will begin on day one.
