Pay Range:

$91,700.00 - $150,800.00

Position Summary:

The Manager of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting data, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic financial decisions. This role manages accounting staff, monitors financial processes, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Close Process

  • Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for site
  • Prepare and review trial balance
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Coordinate with Finance to analyze variances and provide insights to leadership

General Accounting

  • Oversee general ledger activities and account reconciliations
  • Review journal entries for accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure proper accounting of revenue, expenses, and accruals
  • Coordinate with Corporate functions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency

Compliance & Controls

  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Ensure compliance with SOX/GAAP and company policies
  • Work with Corporate Accounting to support internal and external audits
  • Ensure adherence to local tax and regulatory requirements

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Assign tasks, set goals, and evaluate performance
  • Promote continuous improvement and professional growth within the team
  • Be an active member of the site leadership team

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems
  • Implement automation and best practices to increase efficiency
  • Support ERP or financial system upgrades and implementations

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing standard costing

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and ERP software (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, D365, QAD)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, analysis)

Working Conditions

  • Typically office-based or hybrid work environment
  • May require moderately extended hours during quarter-end and year-end
