    Manager, AI Intelligent Automation

    Irving, TX - Onsite

    Summary

    In this role, you will manage the operating flow and organizational performance of Clients Intelligent Automation function. You will ensure that automation demand moves effectively from intake through assessment, prioritization, funding, staffing, delivery, support, and value realization. You will own portfolio management, budget administration, workforce planning, resource allocation, vendor capacity, governance, reporting, and people management. You will partner closely with the Lead AI Automation Engineer, who owns technology selection, solution architecture, technical skill requirements, and successful technical delivery of initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Own and continuously improve the Intelligent Automation intake, triage, assessment, prioritization, and governance process.
    • Maintain portfolio visibility across proposed, approved, active, supported, and completed automation initiatives.
    • Partner with business leaders to clarify demand, business value, timing, dependencies, sponsorship, and readiness.
    • Coordinate with the Lead AI Automation Engineer to obtain technical feasibility, architecture, effort, risk, and skill requirements.
    • Manage annual and quarterly planning, budget forecasting, spend tracking, licensing, vendor capacity, and financial reporting.
    • Own workforce planning, hiring plans, contractor strategy, resource allocation, and capacity management across the function.
    • Sequence work based on business priority, funding, available capacity, technical readiness, and organizational dependencies.
    • Manage portfolio risks, cross-team dependencies, delivery escalations, customer expectations, and executive reporting.
    • Define and monitor portfolio, delivery, operational, financial, adoption, and business-value metrics.
    • Ensure the function has an effective support model, sufficient support capacity, clear escalation paths, and service performance visibility.
    • Lead formal people management, including goal setting, performance reviews, career development, engagement, succession planning, and team health.
    • Partner with the Director on operating model improvements, investment planning, organizational design, and transformation roadmap execution.

    Qualifications

    • Relevant degree preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology delivery, automation, engineering operations, portfolio management, or related functions.
    • 5+ years of formal people management experience.
    • Experience managing technology intake, prioritization, budgets, workforce capacity, vendors, and multi-initiative portfolios.
    • Strong understanding of enterprise Intelligent Automation, UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform, AI-enabled automation, and production support.
    • Experience translating technical estimates and skill requirements into executable staffing, budget, and portfolio plans.
    • Experience communicating portfolio health, financial performance, risks, and business value to senior leaders.
    • Strong people leadership, business partnership, financial management, planning, governance, and organizational skills.

    Technical Skills & Technologies

    The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience across many of the following areas:

    • Intelligent Automation Platforms: Working knowledge of UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform, enterprise RPA, and AI-enabled automation
    • Portfolio & Delivery Management: Intake, prioritization, roadmap planning, capacity management, delivery governance, KPI reporting
    • Financial & Vendor Management: Budget forecasting, spend tracking, licensing, vendor capacity, contract and performance oversight
    • People & Workforce Management: Hiring, performance management, career development, succession planning, organization design
    • Operational Management: Support models, service metrics, escalations, risk management, continuous improvement
    • Business Partnership: Executive communication, stakeholder management, business-case development, value realization

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience managing an enterprise Automation Center of Excellence or similar engineering function.
    • Experience managing a mixed workforce of employees, contractors, and strategic vendors.
    • Experience operating in healthcare or another regulated industry.
    • Experience supporting enterprise transformation roadmaps and technology investment planning.

    • Clear portfolio visibility, prioritization, governance, and executive reporting.
    • Effective budget management, staffing, capacity utilization, and vendor performance.
    • Strong partnership between business stakeholders, the Manager, the Lead, and engineering teams.
    • Healthy team engagement, capability growth, succession readiness, and delivery performance.
    • Measurable improvement in automation adoption, operational performance, and business value.
