The Position
The Port of Portland is hiring a Manager of Environmental Air Quality & Energy.
This role is responsible for management of the Air Quality and Energy programs including strategic planning, personnel, budgets, and contracts. Championing initiatives across multiple departments in a coordinated and collaborative manner to achieve operational safety, business objectives, regulatory compliance, operational efficiencies, and to function as a center of excellence within the Port of Portland. Another key function of this role is representing the Port via engagement with diverse stakeholders such as community groups, regulatory agencies, and government officials.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
(Required) Bachelor's degreein Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a similar field.
Master's is preferred.
(Required) Five (5)+ years of progressively responsible work experience in functional areas, including project management, negotiating and managing complex environmental issues.
(Required) Five (5)+ years of demonstrated experience in supervision of employees.
Licenses and Certifications

Intermediate- Laws and policies related to managing personnel.
Intermediate- Personnel management techniques and best practices.
Senior- Program management. Project management techniques and best practices.
Senior- Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, codes, rules, laws, guidance, and policy statements related to air quality, energy, and climate change.
Air quality: Advanced
Climate change: Senior
Energy: Intermediate
Intermediate - Microsoft Office Suite.
Senior- Identify issues and seek creative solutions.
Senior- Written and verbal communication skills. Tailor content to varying audiences.
