    Summary

    Northwest Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Surgical team in Randallstown, Maryland.

    About this role:

    • Direct and oversee inpatient and outpatient clinical operations across multiple surgical service lines, ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
    • Lead and supervise non-physician providers by managing staffing, credentialing, privileging, productivity, quality monitoring, and professional development.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives that improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and operational performance.
    • Manage recruitment, performance evaluations, employee relations, education, and continuing competency while fostering leadership development and staff engagement.
    • Collaborate with physicians, department leadership, and hospital administration to optimize clinical workflows, patient care pathways, and interdisciplinary communication.
    • Perform advanced clinical responsibilities, including patient assessments, consultations, documentation, ordering diagnostic tests and treatments, prescribing medications (per regulations), and assisting with surgical procedures.
    • Coordinate perioperative and postoperative care by conducting evaluations, facilitating discharges, educating patients, and ensuring continuity of care.
    • Lead quality improvement, EMR enhancement initiatives, and performance monitoring while ensuring compliance with hospital, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
    • Support financial and operational goals through budget oversight, productivity management, resource utilization, and revenue optimization initiatives.
    • Build collaborative relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and community stakeholders while promoting teamwork, effective communication, and an inclusive workplace culture.

    Required Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
    • Master's degree required
    • Maryland NP or PA License (active and in good standing)

    Preferred Experience

    • Surgical experience preferred
    • Acute Care experience prreferred
