Overview This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned staff. Key areas of responsibility include hiring, training, supervision, staffing, staff performance evaluations, and staff, department, and hospital performance improvement activities. Managers also provide case management as needed, meeting the case manager job duties and responsibilities, including assessment, reassessment, care coordination, and discharge planning activities. Qualifications Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Required Education: Bachelor's degree. Specific course work: Bachelors degree in Nursing or Masters degree in Social Work or related field. : Necessary Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong PC skills, including Word, Excel and Email. Supervisory experience. Focus on customer service. Required Licensure/Certifications: -Candidates/Incumbents meeting the Nurse requirement, licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida -Candidates/Incumbents meeting the Social Work requirement, require a clinical social worker licensure in the state of Florida within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position -Candidates/incumbents meeting the related field requirement, require a license within their masters specified education area, if applicable. -Effective January 1, 2015, all new hires must have a professional certification within two years of hire. For certifications that require a specified number of cases or hours worked within the specialty, the certification must be applied for once the case/time requirement has been met, and the certification must be obtained within one year of the requirement having been met (e.g. oncology, chemotherapy, diabetes education) Required Experience: 1-2 years of Supervisory experience -AND- 3-5 years of Utilization management, case management and/or discharge planning experience and experience in a hospital setting. Preferred Experience: Experience working in an academic medical center. Supervision: Supervisory responsibility of 20-30 employees.
