Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$66.000 - $75.740 - $85.490
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
The Clinical Manager holds twenty-four hour accountability for the delivery of quality nursing care and operational management of assigned unit. The job encompasses integration, facilitation, and coordination of the leadership, management, operational, quality improvement coordination, and clinical activities of patient care services. This individual serves as a professional role model, leader, mentor, and clinical resource for nurses and other members of the health care team. Individual is responsible for supervising all department employees. Understands and adheres to the California Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standard for Nurse Administrators. Supports the mission and values of the Medical Center. Possess knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient population in the department under their management. Responsible for the day-to-day management and clinical oversight of Labor & Delivery, Recovery, OB Surgical Services, and GYN Surgery support. Ensures quality nursing care, effective operations, and compliance with Sharp HealthCare policies and regulatory requirements.

Other Qualification RequirementsBSN or Bachelor's degree in related field, required. May consider candidates who enroll in a Bachelor's program within 6 months of transfer into position, with completion of program within 2 years of enrollment, required.
Essential Functions
Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
Integration, facilitation, and coordination of the leadership, management, operational, quality improvement coordination, and clinical activities of assigned patient care department.
Serves as a professional role model, leader, mentor, and clinical resource for nurses and other members of the health care team.
Maintains working knowledge of local health care issues, community standards as well as providers. Participates in strategic business planning and action implementation.
Conducts performance assessments and evaluations of staff in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Utilizes appropriate staff disciplinary processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Manages daily unit operations including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and throughput
Ensures staff competency, orientation, and ongoing education
Supports charge nurses and lead roles to ensure safe coverage and escalation
Coordinates care delivery with anesthesia, surgical services, emergency department, and providers
Implements quality improvement initiatives and patient safety practices
Monitors productivity, staffing effectiveness, and performance metrics
