The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Cardiovascular Disease, is seeking a Manager-Clinical Research Coordination.

General Responsibilities

  • To manage all aspects of research program and clinical studies including education/teaching.

  • To oversee and manage multiple clinical research protocols and the associated personnel.

  • To design best practices for management of IP for drug, device, and biologic studies.

  • To prepare study budgets.

  • To manage research staff within area including all applicable human resources functions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of clinical research coordinators and other support staff.

  • Mentors and provides guidance to CRCs on study-related procedures and documentation.

  • Management of Redcap database.

  • Assists the PI in the conduct of the clinical study according to FDS/IRB regulations and guidelines.

  • Serves as the primary liaison between investigators, sponsors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

  • Prepares data reports and summaries for regulatory agencies and IRBs.

  • Ensures compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulatory guidelines. Study Management and Data Management.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $77,640 - $126,170

Bachelor''s degree in a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification strongly preferred.

Preferences

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.

  • Experience managing clinical research coordinators and student assistants.

  • Proficiency in computer applications and database management.

  • Protocol management.

  • Experience with regulatory compliance to ensure compliance with institutional policies, good clinical practice guidelines, and applicable regulations.

  • Budget and Resource Management.

  • Possesses excellent organizational skills, especially with subject follow-up and reminders.

  • Recruitment experience with IRB and NIH.
