Manager, Communications (GISI Ignite)
About GISI Ignite and Palladium:
GISI is a global, employee-owned family of companies focused on construction, infrastructure, earth and environment, and global development. GISI Ignite is GISIs newly launched centralized technology and innovation team, built to strengthen how our operating companies deliver projects and provide expert guidance on AI, data, and digital solutions. We develop scalable platforms, drive workflow modernization, and help operating companies apply cyber-physical solutions that strengthen the performance, resilience, and safety of major capital programs.
Palladium, a GISI company, works to design, develop and deliver positive impact on the lives and livelihoods of people around the globe; broaden access to health, water, power, and infrastructure; build enduring, sustainable, and transformative institutions and market systems to address global challenges; and conserve the natural world. We operate in over 90 countries and have a workforce of 2,000 talented, motivated, and diverse staff around the world. This role is hired through Palladium, the operational platform for Ignite.
This Opportunity:
GISI Ignite is seeking a Manager, Communications, to build and lead the communications function for a technology and innovation center of excellence serving three platforms, more than a dozen companies, and 14,000 staff across 100 countries.
This is a startup-within-a-company role. This role is the first dedicated communications hire for Ignite, which means this person will define the function, build the infrastructure, and personally execute against it. The ideal candidate brings the strategic vision to build something from scratch and the operational discipline to roll up their sleeves and deliver.
The role requires fluency across two distinct modes: strategic communications - keeping boards, executive leadership, and company-wide audiences informed and aligned - and change management communications - supporting the adoption of technology programs and organizational transitions across a highly distributed workforce. The Manager will partner with the Communications leads at each of GISI's three platforms, manage a marketing consultant for branding and content production, and build the systems and cadences that keep GISI Ignite's story clear, consistent, and credible.
Location:
This is a fully remote position based out of the United States. Candidates must have current work authorization as visa sponsorship cannot be assumed or provided.
Compensation:
For our prospective employees in the United States, please note that the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $115,000 to $125,000. Please be advised that a final salary offer will be based on various factors, including but not limited to your qualifications, education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and GISI/Palladium's business or organizational needs.
Reporting Lines:
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic & Executive Communications
Develop and manage Ignite's multi-tier communications strategy across board, executive leadership, middle management, and company-wide audiences, ensuring each tier receives the right level of detail, cadence, and framing
Own the communication of Ignite's strategic initiatives and AI strategy to internal and external stakeholders
Partner with Communications leads across GISI's three platform companies to align technology communications, ensuring consistent messaging, coordinated timing, and shared brand standards
Produce and project manage executive briefing materials, board communications, and leadership updates
Change Management Communications
Design and execute communications strategies for technology deployments across the GISI family of companies, addressing the distinct needs of legal, IT, leadership, and end users
Lead communications for enterprise-scale rollouts, such as AI tools, ERP systems, innovation programs, and staff training initiatives, translating complex technical change into accessible, audience-appropriate messaging
Develop onboarding communications for mergers and acquisitions, helping newly integrated companies understand and adopt GISI's technology ecosystem and ways of working
Content Strategy & Knowledge Management
Build and maintain a centralized library of case studies, project outcomes, and capability stories, gathering inputs from across the GISI ecosystem and enforcing consistent branding and formatting
Establish the cadence, templates, and distribution channels for Ignite's core communications outputs
Manage marketing consultants or other providers responsible for design, brand production, and content execution
Communications Infrastructure & Standards
Define and implement the platforms, workflows, and governance that underpin Ignite's communications function, from intranet presence to executive reporting cadences
Develop templates, style guides, and playbooks that enable consistent, scalable communications across a decentralized organization
Track and report on communications reach and effectiveness, using data to inform future strategy
Essential Criteria:
5+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or change management communications in a consulting, technology, or professional services environment
Demonstrated experience building a communications program or function with limited precedent or infrastructure
Proven ability to develop and execute communications strategies for large-scale technology or organizational change programs
Strong writing, editing, and narrative-shaping skills across diverse audience types and formality levels
Comfort operating across a highly matrixed, multi-entity organization with decentralized decision-making
Core Abilities Required:
Builds audience-appropriate communications from complex source material - translating technical, strategic, or organizational content into clear, credible messaging
Operates with equal confidence in strategic planning and hands-on execution; does not wait for a team to build before delivering results
Earns trust with senior stakeholders across functions and geographies, providing counsel and pushing back when needed
Designs scalable systems and processes, not one-off solutions - thinks infrastructure, not just output
Thrives in ambiguous environments and early-stage organizational contexts; comfortable with shifting priorities and evolving scope
Skills:
Enterprise internal communications platforms (SharePoint, Viva Engage, or similar)
Project management tools (monday.com, Asana, or similar) for managing communications workstreams
Content and design tools (Canva, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to direct design partners
Change management communication frameworks (Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter, or equivalent)
Sufficient familiarity with AI concepts and terminology to credibly communicate technology strategy and programs to non-technical audiences
