Job Description

The Manager of Compensation reports to the Director, Total Rewards and oversees the administration of the company’s compensation programs. Participates in Compensation Planning for the Carnival Cruise Line shoreside business operations. Manages professional level compensation analysts. Assists with developing new compliant compensation programs, initiatives and policies for Carnival Cruise Lines Shoreside business operations. Under general supervision, seeks guidance on matters and situations that may establish a precedent or cause significant financial impact. Uses creativity, sound judgment and experience to plan and accomplish short- and long-term goals and responsibilities. Support initiatives for CCL brand consisting of approximately 2,300.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop regular and consistent benchmarking and market data pricing processes to include standardization of corporate type job descriptions, analysis, evaluation and documentation. Oversee the rollout of job levels and salary ranges. Lead annual planning of merit, bonus and other related compensation programs. Prepare cost modeling and impact analysis of various scenarios to assist leadership in decision-making process.
  • Lead the analysis and design of new compensation programs. Develop sound practices relating to job analysis, documentation and recommendation; market pricing; benchmarking reviews; salary grades structures, base pay administration and recognition programs.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to management to ensure internal equity across employee groups and consistent application of compensation guidelines.
  • Develop and implement internal compensation related workflow processes across Human Resources and organization to align sound practices with departmental strategy
  • Oversee the annual planning, execution, and review of merit and bonus programs. Identify administration tools and work with vendor to ensure effective system configuration from specification stage through to end process reporting. Review proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices.
  • Staff, train, motivate and monitor professional level employees to ensure high levels of adherence to company values and behaviors while executing effective and efficient operation of the compensation function.
  • Prepare special studies/recommendations regarding incentive compensation, bonus plans, and/or stock plans.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration
  • CCP or coursework towards CCP
  • 5 years experience in compensation and/or total rewards to include experience in reporting and systems. Experience in a lead or supervisory role
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to demonstrate sound judgement, advanced analytic skills, effective problem-solving skills and ability to build and maintain effective work relationships
  • Advanced Excel; Intermediate PowerPoint
