Overview
Summary
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the Company's global Tax functions while fostering a positive and engaging work environment for the Tax team and other team members throughout the Company. This role has responsibility for developing, documenting, and improving processes to increase effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency within the Tax team and works cohesively with the overall Finance Department.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Prepares annual income tax provision calculations and supporting workpapers, including preparation of annual income tax footnotes for the Company's annual financial statements and related technical memos.
Prepares quarterly/annual reconciliation of income tax related accounts
Prepares quarterly income tax estimates and annual extension calculations
Prepares and analyzes state apportionment schedules and other supporting tax workpapers provided to third party tax preparers
Maintain tax basis fixed asset and intangible asset schedules
Ensures the accurate processing of transactions in accordance with accounting guidelines and internal controls
Researches new business activities and new general ledger accounts and use professional knowledge and experience to determine tax impacts and develop new processes and calculations for these changes
Researches, documents and applies relevant tax law related to various tax issues, including staying up to date on tax law changes
Pro-actively identifies, manages, and implements tax opportunities for the Company
Assists Tax Director with:
Tax due diligence procedures for potential acquisitions
Management of external tax advisor relationships
Delivering regular tax updates to Senior Management
Strategic tax planning related to global and domestic tax positions
Assists integration teams with acquired company tax responsibilities and transitions
Manages income tax related notice resolutions with various tax authorities
Manages federal and state income tax audits as they arise
Provides cash budgeting and forecasting information related to taxes on a on a quarterly/annual basis, as requested by the Finance team
Provides frequent and routine updates to the Sr. Director, Tax & Treasury
Manages direct reports to ensure consistent, efficient and effective processes are followed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
5+ years' work experience in a medium to large sized CPA firm and/or Tax Dept of a medium to large size multi-state/multi-national corporation
Experience with preparation/review of federal and multi-state corporate income tax returns
Experience working with consolidated C corporations
Working knowledge of the following:
federal, multi-state and US international income tax laws, rules and regulations
tax accounting related business combinations and eliminations
federal and state credits and business incentives
ASC 740 and other applicable accounting standards under GAP and/or IFRS
Proficient accounting skills and understanding of accounting systems
Ability to quickly adapt and anticipate the needs of a Tax function at a dynamic and fast-growing company
Able to handle a fast-paced work environment with multiple demands, competing priorities and rapid change; responds with a sense of urgency and consistently meets deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Professional demeanor and interpersonal effectiveness; able to collaborate cross-functionally with non-Finance teams
Proficient in use of electronic tax research tools and Microsoft applications

Pay Range
$140,000 - $160,000
Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
