Position Title: Manager - Corporate Tax





Description:

You will use your education and experience to leverage industry leading technology and digital tools to help showcase your education and expertise in guiding the company around innovative tax management and compliance best practice approaches at the international, federal, state and local levels. Using your data mining and data literacy capabilities, spearhead efforts surrounding the identification and introduction of innovative approaches that deliver meaningful process improvement, and efficiency gains along with solid support documentation practices.

Major Responsibilities:

Join other innovative and experienced tax professionals as part of the Penske Corporate Tax Team aligned around a mission to providing global tax compliance strategies, innovative tax planning approaches, and expertise surrounding tax risk management – including but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Own and lead all aspects of partnership tax compliance, including preparation, review, allocation methodologies, partner reporting, and coordination with external advisors; serve as the internal subject matter expert
  • Research and develop tax positions on complex income tax matters, document conclusions, and communicate results to stakeholders
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize effective tax rate and cash taxes, and evaluate the impact of business transactions and legislative changes
  • Own and manage tax audits and controversy, including defending positions, coordinating responses, and monitoring statutes of limitation
  • Manage tax forecasting and business initiatives through collaboration with Finance and other cross-functional teams to provide insights on tax impacts
  • Provide tax accounting support, including ASC 740 provision assistance and review of tax-related general ledger accounts and reconciliations
  • Provide support to the management team on special tax projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5 years of income tax experience in public accounting and/or large multinational environment
  • Strong experience with Partnership taxation, Federal and state income tax compliance, Tax audits and controversy
  • CPA certification or candidate preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex tax issues
  • Ability to use digital workflows and tools to accomplish team objectives
  • Process improvement skills to increase efficiency, simplicity and process clarity wherever possible
  • Problem solving skills to analyze issues, identify solutions and implement process changes
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to translate technical tax concepts to business stakeholders
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
