    Description

    The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for all aspects of cost accounting including refining the company's costing model. The Cost Accounting Manager will support processing and engineering teams in a standard job cost based environment. In addition, he/she will support marketing, new business development and research and development related to costing of new tissues and/or products and line extensions. This position will supervise two Cost Accountants. The Cost Accounting Manager must efficiently and accurately document and record costing data while reviewing and improving process flows. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to successfully interact with all levels of management within and outside the company. The Cost Accounting Manager must display the ability to work within a team environment, make logical decisions, and show flexibility.Responsible for reviewing and refining standards for all tissues which include donor material costs, direct labor, and overhead and periodically update standard material costs to ensure they are current and accurately reflect manufacturing costs.Ensure adequate controls and reviews are in place for Inventory and COGS reporting, including: cost of goods sold, internal material transfers, scrapped material, purchase price variances, standard cost changes, excess & obsolete inventory reserve, cost closing process, inventory revaluation, annual physical inventory, monthly inventory reconciliations, capitalized variances and overhead.Review, analyze, and establish standard labor and overhead rates for tissue forms and streamline gross margin reporting process by product business lines.Analyze gross margins for products and prepare reports about financial performance in addition to documenting and responding to management regarding manufacturing expenses, trends, and deviations from budgets.Work with Operations group to ensure Bills of Materials and routings are accurate.Work with Operations to coordinate and conduct year-end physical inventory count and audit.Supervise and develop two Cost Accountants.Ability to interface successfully with other peer groups to achieve common goals and objectives.Review, analyze, report, and work with IT and ERP system owners to implement process improvements.Process month-end journals applicable to position, prepare month-end reconciliations and various financial statement schedulesInterface with outside auditors, and comply with the company policies and proceduresAssist marketing, new business development and research and development to determine preliminary costs of a project/new tissue and/or product or a line extension and the continuous monitoring of the costing as a tissue and/or product is launched and is continuously sold.Provide up to date information on tissue/product costing on a segment basis to allow for segment reporting.Additional responsibilities as may be assigned.Bachelor's in accounting or cost accounting5 years experience in cost accounting3 years leadership and management responsibilityCPA preferred but not requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in PC applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint; and ERP accounting software Managing a team of three or more#J-18808-Ljbffr
