Manager, Data Engineering

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Manager of Data Engineering for a full-time direct hire position. The Manager of Data Engineering will lead the data engineering team in building and optimizing data pipelines, designing scalable systems for storage and processing, and ensuring data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role involves strategic project management, team leadership, client-facing technical consultation, and collaboration with various departments to address the company's data needs and achieve business goals.Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor data engineers, establishing clear goals and maintaining a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Oversee complex data engineering projects, collaborating with cross-departmental teams to understand data requirements and deliver timely solutions.
• Ensure the ongoing health of data pipelines, databases, and storage solutions, maintaining data integrity, scalability, efficiency, and availability.
• Lead the integration of AI agents and LLM-driven workflows to automate data investigation, mapping, and ETL processes.
• Serve as a technical liaison, engaging with clients to address data architecture concerns and translating client needs into actionable technical requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Experience deploying and orchestrating agentic workflows for automated data investigation, extraction, and transformation.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a technical team.
• Experience in client-facing roles with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex data concepts to stakeholders.
