Manager - Development
The Development Manager advances SMA Healthcare's mission by securing and managing foundation and corporate funding and developing meaningful corporate partnerships. This position coordinates grant development, administration, and compliance; cultivates and stewards corporate partners; and works closely with the Executive Director, regional leadership, program leaders, and donor relations staff to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities and demonstrate the impact of donor support.

Knowledge of grant development, post-award administration, donor stewardship, and corporate sponsorship practices.Excellent writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills.Ability to interpret funding requirements and translate program needs into compelling proposals and fundraising materials.Ability to develop and review grant budgets, track expenditures, and coordinate financial reporting with finance staff.Strong relationship-building, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and donor database systems; DonorPerfect experience preferred.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines and funding priorities.Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, regional and program leaders, finance teams, and external partners.Ability to maintain confidential donor and organizational information and exercise sound judgment.Commitment to ethical fundraising practices, accountability, and accurate reporting.
Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida drivers license, acceptable driving record, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive an SMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State of Florida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during the first six (6) months of employment and updated if required.
Physical: Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 30 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record client health care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate charting, daily correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work endurance ability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, as possible. Routine 8-12 hour shifts. Hours and days off may vary. Extra hours may be required. Work assignment locations may vary.
