The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for providing centralized ER support through advising and conducting workplace investigations on behalf of the enterprise. While conducting workplace investigations, the ER Manager will engage with business leaders, HR, Legal and other key stakeholders to make recommendations on outcomes.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. What you'll do
  • Responsible for conducting all phases of the investigation process for high-risk complex ER cases that can involve substantial legal risk. Provide non-legal and workplace-related recommendations/insight to leaders, including Executives
  • Write thorough and compelling Executive summaries of high-risk complex investigations documenting fair and impartial investigation process, and findings to provide recommendations and influence outcomes that minimize risk to the enterprise
  • Present summaries to leaders, HR and cross-functional partners and Executives in a professional manner; respond to questions as they arise
  • Use investigations, case data and observations to influence Territory leaders and Corporate Executives to improve engagement, and proactively address root cause of cultural concerns
  • Work cross-functionally, including Corporate HR partners, Field HR, and other teams (including assisting in training HR partners and business leaders) to develop best practices and ensure business leaders and HR partners create environments with consistent, fair practices while driving positive business results
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Legal, Ethics, Enterprise Risk & Compliance, and other sources of policy enforcement to solve for complex issues, which may involve multi-party investigations
  • Utilize ER case data and reporting to identify trends and leading indicators of issues at the store, Market, Territory, or business unit level
  • Upskill leaders and HR partners on labor risk, while also fine-tuning ability to listen for insight and recommend action to address cultural concerns
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

Basic Qualifications (You must meet or exceed all basic requirements to be eligible)
  • 3 or more years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or an investigative environment
  • 3 or more years of proven leadership experience (i.e., influence, confidentiality, communication and conflict resolution)
  • Proven experience leading, decision making, documenting, and delivering highly defensible results related to ER investigations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience applying ER principles, knowing and understanding employment laws and their applications, and the ability to incorporate new practices into enterprise change initiatives
