Job Details

The Environment and Sustainability Manager will lead the development and execution of the company's environmental and decarbonization strategy, driving measurable progress toward emissions reduction and resource efficiency goals. This role will oversee the tracking, analysis, and reporting of Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, while establishing frameworks to define, measure, and manage Scope 3 impacts across the value chain. Leveraging strong analytical and operational expertise, the manager will identify trends, ensure data integrity, and implement systems that enhance visibility and decision-making. This is a hybrid position to be based out of either our Corporate HQ in Boston, MA or our US Manufacturing site on Clinton, PA

Partnering closely with Facilities, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams, the manager will identify and advance energy efficiency and conservation initiatives, supporting the development of cost-effective decarbonization pathways aligned with corporate objectives. They will apply structured problem-solving methodologies and industry best practices to evaluate opportunities, prioritize investments, and deliver sustainable operational improvements.

This role will also support and strengthen the company's environmental management systems, with a focus on maintaining and advancing ISO 14001 standards and compliance. Acting as a key liaison across the organization, the manager will translate technical environmental data into actionable strategies, lead change initiatives, and proactively manage regulatory and operational risks. The Environment and Sustainability Manager will play a critical role in embedding sustainability into core business processes, ensuring long-term environmental performance and organizational resilience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Lead the tracking, validation, and reporting of Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions

  • Develop methodologies and systems to quantify and manage Scope 3 emissions across the value chain.

  • Implement, and continuously improve environmental data management systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency in sustainability reporting.

  • Partner with Facilities, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and implement energy efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Develop and help execute the company's decarbonization roadmap, including identifying reduction opportunities, modeling scenarios, and tracking progress against targets.

  • Support and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 standards and driving continuous improvement in environmental performance and compliance.

  • Conduct environmental impact analyses and risk assessments to support operational decision-making and regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor emerging environmental regulations, sustainability trends, and industry best practices, translating them into actionable strategies for the organization.

  • Lead cross-functional sustainability initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and successful implementation of new processes and technologies.

  • Prepare internal and external sustainability reports, disclosures, and communications, ensuring data integrity and alignment with applicable frameworks and standards.

  • Provide training, guidance, and subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and accountability across the organization.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track environmental performance, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to support sustainability initiatives, including emissions reduction, responsible sourcing, and Scope 3 data collection.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Degrees in Business, Engineering, or Energy Management with a sustainability or environmental focus will also be considered; MS in a relevant field

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in environmental, sustainability, EHS, or energy management roles

  • Familiarity with REACH (EU), RoHS (EU & China RoHS), PFAS restrictions, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, California Proposition 65, EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) substance requirements, WEEE Directive, Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) preferred

Pay Transparency:

The pay range for this role is:

$103,600.00-$176,400.00/Annual

The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account, without limitation, the candidate's location, education, job-knowledge, skills, and experience in prior relevant roles.

Incentives may also be provided as part of Haemonetics' employee compensation. For sales roles, employees will be eligible for sales incentive (i.e., commission) under the applicable plan terms. For non-sales roles, employees will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, the target amount of which varies based on the applicable role, to be governed by the applicable plan terms. Employees may also be eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive plan, with eligibility and target amount dependent on the role.
