Responsible for the daily operation of the department to include preventive maintenance tasks and assignments, work requests and assignments, and multiple tasks involving a variety of services provided by the department.
What you will do in this role:
Determine the qualifications and competence of departmental personnel who provide services.
Participates in the selection, management and quality control of outside contractors and vendors.
Maintains appropriate resource materials and makes them readily accessible to department staff.
Identifies potential operational issues and addresses them proactively.
Coordinates the repair of equipment or recommends replacement.
Familiar with and able to instruct others in the service and maintenance of equipment and facilities systems.
Identifies savings opportunities and revenue enhancements that add value to departmental or facility processes.
Schedules daily workflow, and monitors completion.
Coaches, counsels, manages and lead the departmental team as a cohesive group.
Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies to maximize the operational readiness of hospital building systems and equipment while monitoring costs, regulations and priorities.
Fills in for the Director in his absence.
Participates in the employee performance evaluation process to ensure timeliness and appropriateness.
Performs other related functions as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
High school graduate required, college or trade school graduate preferred
5-10+ years hospital operations experience required
Journeyman level tradesman or college graduate preferred
