Manager, Final Mile Carrier Strategy

Overall Job Summary

This role is responsible for developing and executing final mile delivery strategies, including carrier selection, diversification, and optimization, to drive efficient, scalable, and high-quality delivery experiences that support business growth. The position leads carrier performance management through KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews while serving as the primary owner of operational and financial outcomes across the delivery network. Additionally, this role partners cross-functionally to optimize fulfillment flows, leverage data to improve network efficiency, and enhance end-to-end processes, technology, and customer experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Establish and execute a carrier strategy roadmap focused on efficiency, scalability, and customer experience, leveraging data insights to prioritize and implement high-impact improvements.
  • Build small package (parcel), LTL/TL and white-glove delivery solutions, including carrier selection and negotiation, performance optimization and service offerings to support strategic business growth.
  • Design and execute a carrier diversification strategy to expand delivery coverage, reduce risk, and improve service levels for store-based fulfillment operations all while supporting continued business growth.
  • Drive carrier performance through KPI tracking, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring consistent achievement of service, cost, and delivery SLAs across the network.
  • Lead structured business reviews with carrier partners to evaluate performance, align strategic priorities, and drive accountability through actionable improvement plans.
  • Partner with broader Supply Chain to shape fulfillment flow paths: Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize fulfillment routing across all distribution center types and stores, improving speed, cost efficiency, and network flexibility.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational and financial performance of the delivery network carriers and partner cross-functionally to design and improve end-to-end fulfillment processes, technology, and customer experience.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years related experience in supply chain management, e-commerce, delivery merchandising, field operations, logistics, transportation, or inventory management preferably in a retail environment.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Finance, Business, Applied Math, Statistics or related field. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • Strong experience in carrier management, including selection, negotiation, and performance optimization across final mile networks.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic roadmaps that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
  • Expertise in KPI development, scorecard management, and driving continuous improvement to meet service and cost targets.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, forecast demand, and optimize delivery coverage and network performance.
  • Demonstrated success leading carrier business reviews and managing vendor relationships to drive accountability and results.
  • Experience designing and implementing final mile or small package delivery solutions in a multi-node fulfillment environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence partners across supply chain, IT, merchandising, and operations.
