    Description

    Provide leadership and supervision to the fitness center team. Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Front Desk, Membership, Fitness, Group Exercise and Facilities. Provides input and direction for all operational issues of assigned areas. Responsibilities include but are not limited to development of department budget and operational plans, staff training and mentorship, and management of staff and customer interactions.

    Position Requirements

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Recreation Management, Exercise Science, healthcare/fitness, or closely related field.

    Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED certification

    Special Skills:

    Demonstrate excellent customer service skills

    Demonstrate excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task

    Experience: Minimum one year of previous fitness management-related experience required; three years of previous fitness management-related experience preferred. Experience in implementation of capital/operating budgets, human resources, marketing, and wellness programming preferred.

    Other:

    Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word

    Ability to develop and manage a financial budget

    Computer knowledge with regards to Club Automation (preferred)

    Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Possesses the ability to work in high pressure situations, manage multiple deadlines and frequent interruptions and have a strong attention to detail.

    Customer service-oriented and able to relate to all levels of staff.

    The employee may need to work early mornings, evenings and/or weekends to ensure center goals are met.
