About Your Role:
As the Manager, Food Safety & Sanitation at Dollar Tree’s corporate office, you’ll lead the development and execution of our Food Safety & Quality Systems (FSQS) program and compliance framework as it relates to store operations. You’ll serve as a key subject matter expert across the organization, partnering cross-functionally to strengthen food safety, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and operational performance across our stores.
Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Food Safety, Quality & Compliance:
- Build and lead the company’s Food Safety & Quality Systems (FSQS) program and compliance framework as it applies to store operations.
- Serve as the enterprise Food Safety & Quality subject matter expert for store operations, providing guidance and expertise across the organization.
- Serve as an Integrity Matters representative, completing investigations and providing guidance and recommendations when necessary.
- Lead cross-functional risk management, compliance, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Oversee company-wide FSQS training and development programs related to store operations.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards that strengthen food safety, sanitation, and quality performance.
Analytics, Audits & Regulatory Support:
- Leverage enterprise analytics tools, performance reporting, and key metrics to identify trends, assess risk, and provide clear strategic direction.
- Direct food safety and sanitation audits, compliance reviews, corrective actions, and field execution strategies.
- Manage and support regulatory inspections, agency interactions, and compliance-related investigations.
- Represent the Food Safety & Quality function with regulators and other external stakeholders.
- Provide food safety and compliance support for DOJ-related initiatives and other enterprise priorities.
- Partner with cross-functional and field teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive consistent execution across store operations.
Your Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Food Science, Public Health, Environmental Health, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in food safety, food quality, sanitation, compliance, risk management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated expertise in food safety, quality and sanitation standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance programs.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, compliance reviews, and corrective action activities.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders to drive compliance and operational improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data and metrics to support decision-making.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Professional certifications such as HACCP, Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), Certified Professional in Food Safety (CP-FS), Certified Food Scientist (CFS), or equivalent.
- Experience within the retail, grocery, food distribution, restaurant, or consumer products industries.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations and field-based compliance programs.
- Experience managing regulatory inspections, agency interactions, and compliance-related investigations.
- Experience leading, coaching, or developing teams.
- Experience utilizing data analytics and reporting tools to drive food safety and compliance performance.

Start Rate = $110,000 -$123,000 based on experience plus 20% bonus and equity.
