Manager, Global Tax Strategy

Reporting to the Director, Global Tax, the Manager, Global Tax Strategy supports the development and execution of Avient's global tax strategy and management of tax controversy matters. This position plays a critical role in driving strategic tax initiatives, managing tax risk, supporting audits, and partnering cross-functionally across Finance and the broader business. The role also interfaces closely with Avient's managed services providers to support tax operations.Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Accredited four-year degree in accounting or related field
• Certified Public Accountant, Master's degree in Taxation, or license to practice law preferred
• Strong skills and 7+ years of experience in international tax and controversy, including managing tax audits
• Experience with manufacturing or technology companies preferred
• Broad experience with oversight of complex international tax matters for multinational companies or equivalent experience at Big Four public accounting firms
• Ability to interpret and apply tax rules in relevant contexts to support decision-making and compliance efforts
• Critical thinking and the ability to "own" responsibilities in a fast-paced environment focused on results
• Team player with proven ability to lead and manage projects
• Strong skills in getting and analyzing financial data for tax modeling (Excel)
• Familiarity with SAP, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and OneSource
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking) with additional regional language proficiency appreciated
