Position Summary

The Planning & Development Manager leads the day-to-day management of ACCESS' grants portfolio and adherence to all funder requirements. Supporting the department Director and ACCESS' business priorities, this position supports the strategy and manages activities related to maintaining and growing the organization's grants portfolio. The Manager is responsible for optimizing the department's processes and procedures and collaborating with each team member to ensure all work is aligned with the department's goals and key objectives. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, project management skills, with an emphasis on outcome measurement.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and support new programs that address unmet healthcare needs, aligning with the organization's strategic priorities.
  • Develop and lead sustainable funding strategies to expand and retain funding streams supporting programs, services, and the overall mission.
  • Build and execute strategies to identify and secure private sector and governmental funding by monitoring trends and cultivating key relationships.
  • Cultivate and manage stakeholder relationships, including government agencies, foundation leaders, community organizations, clinical and administrative leaders, and program evaluators.
  • Assess and interpret funding and policy environments to align with funder interests and organizational mission.
  • Ensure programmatic, fiscal, and administrative compliance, including accurate reporting and responsible management of grant and contract funds.
  • Manage internal and external communications with staff, funders, government agencies, community leaders, and the philanthropic community.
  • Lead and develop direct reports through clear expectations, coaching, performance management, and growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to promote shared responsibility, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with at least eight years of experience in health administration, government relations, or a related field, or a master's degree in public health, health administration, business, public policy, or a related field with a minimum of five years of experience in health administration, government relations, or a related field
  • Five years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or grants management
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical and persuasive writing, superior editing skills and the ability to clearly convey complex information to a diverse audience.
  • Proven leadership in setting and achieving revenue targets through grant funding
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity and experience with national, governmental, and local funders
  • Experience managing diverse teams of direct reports, with a focus on talent development and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with donor development or CRM software

ACCESS is a Network of Federally Qualified Health Centers treating patients on the frontlines of community-based health care. Depending on position applied/being recruited for, candidates may be required to be vaccinated against communicable diseases and provide supporting documentation proving that they are properly vaccinated, or apply for religious and/or medical vaccination exemption as a part of the application process.

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
