The Opportunity
- Serve as the primary lead for the Home Sleep Test (HST) program.
- Work hand in hand with the clinic Medical Director to determine appropriate testing devices and secure related contracts.
- Lead device selection and determine device trials.
- Manage all direct referrals.
- Escalate complex program, vendor, or contract issues to the Manager, Practice Operations or Sleep Medical Director as appropriate.
- Oversee the distribution, tracking, retrieval, and sanitization of home sleep apnea testing devices.
- Manage durable medical equipment (DME) workflows to ensure device availability and readiness.
- Reconcile HST device inventory and utilization records to support accurate DME billing and payer compliance.
- Hire, train, and schedule sleep technicians, coordinators, and administrative schedulers.
- Direct staff in providing patient hook-up instructions, troubleshooting device use, and answering post-test inquiries.
- Manage the Home Sleep Test Coordinator role.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development for HST program staff
- Maintain accreditation standards and monitor data acquisition accuracy.
- Enforce safety and HIPAA regulations across the program.
- Lead quality assurance audits and performance improvement initiatives for the HST program.
- Investigate and report safety events, device malfunctions, or adverse patient reactions in accordance with facility policy and AASM standards
Required Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor''s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field and 4 years of healthcare experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates attainment of the required competencies Required
- 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting Required
- Deep familiarity with portable monitoring devices (Type III/IV monitors), durable medical equipment (DME) workflows, and sleep disorder diagnostics Required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent sleep technology credential Preferred
- Prior experience managing a home sleep testing or DME program Preferred.
- Vendor management and contract negotiation skills for durable medical equipment (DME) procurement.
- Knowledge of sleep study accreditation standards and data acquisition quality.
- Able to effectively lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals.
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to uphold HIPAA regulations and enforce safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and providers, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Know-how and experience using technology and electronic health records (EHRs) to manage patient data and operations.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of infection control and equipment sanitation standards applicable to home sleep testing device reprocessing
