Summary:
Leads employee relations strategy and execution while ensuring Benchmark maintains full compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state employment regulations. Proactively drives HR initiatives, provides strong leadership guidance to business leaders, and fosters a culture of accountability, fairness, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Administers and oversees human resources programs, policies, and procedures for division co-workers; drives continuous improvement and ensures alignment with business objectives.
Leads employee relations strategy, ensuring consistent, fair, and compliant application of policies, practices, and employment laws.
Partners with HR team members across the organization to drive consistent execution of HR processes and initiatives.
Proactively identifies organizational needs and develops HR goals, objectives, systems, and process improvements that enhance workforce effectiveness.
Serves as a strategic advisor to leaders and managers, providing guidance on complex employee relations matters, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
Acts as a trusted resource for all co-workers, promoting open communication, engagement, and a positive work environment.
Leads and resolves employee relations issues, conducting thorough and compliant investigations, and recommending appropriate actions.
Drives leadership capability by coaching managers on decision-making, accountability, conflict resolution, and adherence to company policies and values.
Oversees and facilitates compliance training efforts (e.g., harassment prevention, policy awareness, workplace conduct).
Conducts routine plant tours and audits (HR records, attendance, policy adherence, etc.), ensuring operational compliance and identifying areas of risk or improvement.
Partners with Regional HR Director on employment-related matters; prepares responses to unemployment claims or other legal issues and may participate in hearings.
Leads disciplinary processes, including recommendations and execution up to and including termination, ensuring consistency, documentation, and legal compliance.
Presents HR-related updates, compliance requirements, and workforce insights in co-worker and leadership meetings.
Drives a culture of accountability by ensuring leaders take ownership of people decisions and follow through on HR-related actions.
Takes initiative to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities within the organization, implementing solutions that align with both compliance requirements and business strategy.
Ensures adherence to all applicable employment laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across the division.
Assists with other HR functions and strategic initiatives as needed.
Education / Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred, or combination of education and experience as approved by executive management.
6+ years of HR experience required.
