Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, higher education administration, business, or a related field. Nature & Purpose of Position
Engages in moderately complex managerial work administering the daily activities of program entry processes, student outreach, and youth programming for the College of Arts and Media (CAM).
Primary Responsibilities
Manages and executes audition, portfolio review, and interview-related workflows; prospective student outreach activities; and summer educational program coordination across the College of Arts and Media (CAM) academic units. Serves as the primary operational liaison between CAM academic units and relevant university partners for audition and portfolio processes, prospective student programming, school and community outreach, and CAM summer camps, workshops, and related educational programs. Supports college outreach, prospective student engagement, and program coordination through operational management, data tracking, and educational programming. Manages and coordinates end-to-end program entry processes for CAM academic units requiring auditions, portfolios, interviews, or additional application materials. Serves as the primary liaison between CAM academic units and relevant university partners regarding timelines, communications, and operational processes tied to auditions and portfolios. Oversees scheduling, digital forms, registration tools, and related processes. Maintains documentation and operational continuity related to audition, portfolio, and interview procedures and timelines. Coordinates website updates related to auditions, portfolios, interviews, and prospective student information. Serves as a resource to CAM academic units regarding timelines and operational practices tied to program entry processes. Tracks and reports data related to audition and portfolio activity and outcomes, including participation, decisions, and other related measures. Manages administrative and operational coordination for CAM summer camps, workshops, and youth or professional development programming. Coordinates registration and participant communications for CAM summer camps, workshops, and other educational programs in collaboration with CAM academic units. Oversees online registration processes and serves as an initial point of contact for participants, families, school contacts, and other audiences as appropriate. Coordinates with the CAM Dean's Office and unit staff to support payment setup, registration processes, and administrative requirements for camps, workshops, and related programs. Coordinates website content related to camps, workshops, youth programming, and other educational outreach programs, including program descriptions, registration information, schedules, and related details. Serves as liaison with the SHSU Visitor Center regarding campus tours, camp-related visits, and youth program coordination. Tracks and reports data related to camps, workshops, participation, and other program outcomes as assigned. Manages and executes outreach, communication, and engagement activities for the College of Arts and Media. Coordinates prospective student outreach efforts for CAM in collaboration with CAM academic units and university partners. Supports college-level communication and follow-up for prospective students, applicants, families, school contacts, and other external audiences. Represents CAM and manages planning and execution of on- and off-campus outreach and engagement activities, including prospective student programs, school and community outreach initiatives, fairs, tabling activities, campus visit opportunities, and related events. Assists with calling campaigns, follow-up outreach, and other communication efforts that support faculty outreach and student pipeline development. Provides support for selected current student engagement activities, as assigned. Participates in outreach travel within the state of Texas, with limited out-of-state travel as needed. Tracks and reports data related to outreach activities and student engagement efforts. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and university procedures related to admissions practices, registration, event coordination, and program support. Ability to manage operational functions and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, campus partners, other university departments, and external agencies. Requires strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Familiarity with customer relationship management systems, digital forms, event registration tools, and web content management systems is preferred. Occasional evening and weekend work and some travel are required.
