Are you passionate about sustainability and waste reduction efforts across Amazon's global organization? The Robotics Delivery and Packaging Innovation team is looking for a business intelligence manager to join our team in building and maintaining end-to-end data and analytics solutions that drive business choices. This is your opportunity to be a core part of the team that reduces waste for our business and our customer. We need your business intelligence engineering experience to shape the future of packaging data and understanding of the customer experience. You will spearhead high visibility projects to design, implement and measure effective solutions for large, complex data spanning many sources and data structures using AWS tools.

We are looking for a builder who can bring deep SQL proficientcy, knowledge of data design and warehousing best practices, and ability apply statistical/ML/AI solutions to business problems. In this role, you will manage our "source of truth" data store and metrics for warehouse automation and customer packaging. You will be responsible for ETL design and implementation although you may leverage Data Engineers to deliver outcomes. This role will ensure the right data is available and curate metrics to support customer experiences spanning several sources of data with a high degree of ambiguity.

The ideal candidate has depth of experience thinking for their stakeholders, mitigating bottlenecks and implementing enterprise level solutions to build for the future and deliver today. A successful candidate will think strategically while getting things done, they will know why to implement various solutions for optimization vs. speed and be able to integrate into a broad ecosystem of data pipelines and visualization tools. They will be strong writers and understand the importance of code development best practices. You must also have a well-rounded analytics skillset understanding basics in statistical analysis, automation and common coding languages.

Key job responsibilities

  • Inspire and manage a talented Business Intelligence Engineering team to achieve its goals and development potential
  • Define and manage a long-term vision and portfolio of initiatives to improve the customer experience and business results through creating world-class metrics, analysis, visualizations, and data-centric storytelling.
  • Drive a Business Intelligence roadmap; prioritize business insight requests to balance the tactical and strategic information needs of the business
  • Oversee the definition and governance of key business metrics, drive the vision and building of self-service analytic capabilities, and engineer data-informed processes that drive business value
  • Connect with the Amazon community of data professionals to stay current on technology trends, data tools and techniques to improve the performance of the team
  • Create and foster an environment that values and promotes an inclusive approach to problem solving and continuous learning to improve
  • Apply appropriate econometric/statistical tools to business problems
  • Enable quick development through project management best practices and documentation
