Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager Imaging/Radiology to lead a large, multidisciplinary imaging department in a medical office setting.

The Imaging Manager will have overall responsibility for department operations, employee performance, staffing, equipment, budgets, patient access, and workflow improvement. The department includes multiple imaging modalities and has 35+ employees, with the manager overseeing the majority of the department's staff.

Key Responsibilities Operations Management
  • Oversee daily operations of the Imaging/Radiology department.
  • Manage FTE and non-personnel expense (NPE) budgets.
  • Approve PTO and coordinate staffing and backfill requirements.
  • Monitor unsigned studies, PACS exceptions, and unended exams.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and communicate organizational and departmental updates.
  • Research and resolve patient/member concerns.
  • Partner with internal departments to improve workflows and resolve operational issues.
People Leadership
  • Directly manage approximately 60 75% of department employees.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and manage employee performance.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, develop, and retain staff.
  • Establish performance expectations and hold employees accountable.
  • Support employee-related processes, including FMLA matters.
  • Promote employee engagement and professional development.
Equipment & Resource Management
  • Oversee imaging equipment failures and operational issues.
  • Communicate equipment failures that may impact patient care.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of equipment issues.
  • Monitor imaging volumes, patient demand, and access metrics.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Develop and submit business cases and capital requests.
Required Qualifications Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist, Mammographer, or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Radiology Supervisor/Manager with direct reports.
  • Experience conducting performance reviews and participating in hiring and termination decisions.
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited diagnostic imaging program, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent directly related experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
License/Certification

Candidates must hold an applicable Washington State imaging credential, such as:

  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification
  • Radiologic Technologist certification
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification
Additional Qualifications
  • Knowledge of hospital regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Knowledge of imaging accreditation requirements and healthcare delivery systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, develop, and engage staff.
  • Strong performance management and accountability skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and change-management skills.
  • Financial and budget management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing medical office buildings operating extended hours, including evenings, weekends, or 24/7 environments.
  • Ability to participate in a regional 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Registration or certification in multiple imaging disciplines.
  • Master's degree or equivalent additional directly related experience.
