The Manager - Interventional Laboratory is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Interventional Labs, including scheduling, performance improvement, and daily problem solving. This position ensures service operation, personnel management, resource allocation, and control in order to support and enhance patient care. This position is responsible for assuring all new products are streamlined through the proper new product review committee to assure patient safety. This position is responsible to assure continuing education for all equipment that is used for exams needing specialization. This position is responsible for the safe monitoring of all patients undergoing studies in the Interventional labs and safe patient throughput in the Interventional Labs as it pertains to physician's request.
Assumes responsibility for all daily operational needs department-wide, including staffing levels, work flow, patient scheduling, and supporting the department in action.
Monitors compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy for patient services, personnel management, and environmental safety. Oversees a QA program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication.
Serves as a resource to physicians, nurses and department managers within and across service lines.
Responsible for the care and maintenance of Interventional equipment and supplies.
Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies.
Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel
Is responsible for on going development of staff and unit specific patient care programs.
Is responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Manages team members which includes orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
Is responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources.
Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required
Minimum Work Experience
3 years Clinical experience in a critical care setting Required and
1-3 years Interventional Lab experience Required and
1-3 years Prior supervisory/leadership or teaching experience Required
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse Licensed Current Florida Clinical License Upon Hire Required and
BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required and
ACLS Provider (ACLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
